One of the most popular towns in the north of Mallorca, a holiday in Alcudia has something for just about everyone.
From nature trails to beaches, boutiques, bars and a glimpse in to the historical past of the island, there is much to explore in this lively, cultural town. If you’re planning a stay in one of our holiday villas in Alcudia, you’ll have no shortage things to do and see throughout your visit, starting with the beautiful Old Town.
The Old Town
Explore the remains of a Roman settlement in the Old Town. The city’s walls have been restored to a high standard, making it easy to see how the fortified town would have looked during Mallorca’s Roman occupation. You can also visit the market here, which takes place on Tuesdays and Sundays, and is thought to be one of the best on the island.
Sant Juame Church
The Church of Sant Juame is thought to date back to the 1200s, commissioned under King Juame II, and is a perfect example of the neo-gothic architecture that can be found throughout Mallorca. You can admire the sandstone building from afar, or wonder through and explore the many chapels inside.
Alcudia beach
There are many beaches in Alcudia worthy of visit, the main stretch being Alcudia beach. You can take part in swimming, snorkelling, and other water sports, or even charter a boat to get out and have some fun on the waves of the Mediterranean.
Hipica Formentor
This popular stable is a great place for families to enjoy some fun on horseback. There are regular rides departing along the beach or throughout the grounds, while more experienced riders can take part in longer full-day or week-long excursions.
Hidropark
Hidropark is one of the island’s top waterparks, and the only waterpark near to the north coast. There are slides and rides for all ages, as well as mini-golf, swimming pools and paintball. The park is open May-October, making it a perfect way to spend a day during a summer family holiday in Alcudia.
