Where to sail around Mallorca

There is over 550km of coastline around Mallorca, so where do you start?

If you are staying in Pollensa, Formentor Beach is a popular place to sail to. Boats can be chartered from Puerto Pollensa, and the white sand beach is not a far ride from there. You can weigh anchor in the turquoise waters, and enjoy great views, sunshine as well as delicious local food and drink served in restaurants near the beach.

To the west of the island is Port de Soller, a bustling port surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains. It is one of the busier ports in Mallorca, filled with restaurants, bars, shops and hotels. For those in want of something quieter, head to the north of the island to Cala Boquer. Only pedestrians or sailors can reach this beach, making it a tranquil place to partake in activities like snorkeling.

If you’re heading south, Port Andratx is a popular upscale choice. Home to numerous high-end restaurants and bars, this port is Mallorca’s answer to the Rivieria. The harbour is one of the busiest on the island, and the town itself has been built up in recent years. Also to the south and of note is Portal Vells, a largely undisturbed beach with calm and shallow waters that make it a good choice for swimming with young children. As it is quieter here, visitors can enjoy the surrounding natural beauty, including pine trees and serene clear waters, before heading up to the beach restaurant for a bite to eat.
