This outstanding country home, set in an idyllic location, is acknowledged as one of the top 50 historic houses in the North of Mallorca with the main house dating back to the 16th century.
Originally built as the main farm house and olive press facility for the neighbouring olive groves. Set amongst 175 acres of its own grounds with enchanting walks through the evergreen oak forests up into the mountains and with its own small orange grove down by the river, the house itself is surrounded by beautiful terraced gardens. With a fantastic array of living space throughout the house offers five reception rooms, a family kitchen, 6 bedrooms (five doubles and one twins) and five en suite bathrooms.
There is nothing contrived about the terraces, gardens and pool area – it looks totally established and that it’s evolved naturally over time, totally comfortable in its environment. The gardens are immaculately kept with a tennis court, BBQ and open kitchen that’s covered. Al fresco lunches under the large canopy are a must as you look onto the vast expanse ahead.
The interiors also combine traditional and modern, this is not somewhere you feel you have to stand on ceremony, yet is beautiful and well-equipped. The tasteful, practical kitchen leads into an open-plan area with dining room, lounge, snooker room and office area.
There are 6 bedrooms in total, 5 which are double en-suite and a further two perfect for families, especially as there is not only a large, beautifully furnished sitting-room, but also a separate lounge area on the landing. The bedrooms and bathrooms are simply furnished, but modern and super-comfortable, with large windows, shutters and beautiful views – some also have terrace access.
The outdoor living areas are just as good with a 16m x 5m swimming pool carved out of the hillside, a tennis court, barbecue area and a selection of covered terraces. Furthermore the property has air conditioning throughout and a full time maid and cook are provided. A haven of peace and tranquillity yet only 6 km from Pollensa Old Town.

And appreciate the fabulous top quality furnishings…there’s a touch of ‘rustic chic’ about this superb holiday villa, characterised by cool, contemporary features and attractive décor. There are two 55 inch flat screen TV´s ( main house and casita) mounted on the wall so you can keep up with all your favourite TV programmes, and you benefit from air conditioning and fast fibre optic internet connection One of the most appealing factors of Cal Rei Gran is that everything is on one low level. You don’t have to bother with stairs. In fact, the property delivers a lovely spacious flow of living space dominated by the attractive, open plan living and dining area. Large, fluffy cushions everywhere add to your feeling of comfort. The sliding patio doors ensure that your holiday home is bathed with that soft Mediterranean light that we all love so much. Access to the outdoor area is also easy – there is just one step which can be accessed if necessary by using a small ramp. The large, fully fitted main kitchen is a joy. Gleaming with design by the Italian company Bontempi, it’s all chrome and stainless steel with all the mod cons you need. The villa sleeps up to 12 people in a total of 6 bedrooms; three doubles and a twin bedroom in the main house. Several of the 5 bathrooms feature walk-in showers. Bed linen and towels are supplied. Separate and across the way you’ll find a pretty 2-bedroom ‘casita’ (little house) with a double and a twin bedroom that share a bathroom. Please note that the twin bedroom does not have direct interior access to the bathroom and requires you to either walk through the double bedroom or via the outside. It is ideal for a couple with up to two kids using it as an annex room. There’s a chill out space too, the perfect place to wind down after a busy day exploring the area. A nice little touch here is the covered terrace with pretty dining furniture, as well as a breakfast terrace on the west side of the villa. The rectangular pool (approx. 12m x 6m x 1.8m) is illuminated at night, and with the backdrop of the gorgeous Tramuntana mountains, it’s a lovely place to relax and watch the sun go down. There’s a covered barbecue area too, so you can dine al fresco if the mood takes you. A beautiful, landscaped large garden featuring mature trees and a playground area with swings and a ping-pong table makes the property ideal for families with young children.
